General Terms and Conditions

PURPOSE

The subsequent general conditions shall serve as the governing norms for the procurement of LOCK&EXPLORE lockers. These conditions shall regulate the relationship between LOCK&EXPLORE and the user availing themselves of the service.

LOCKERS

LOCK&EXPLORE offers its clientele the opportunity to rent any of its lockers for natural-day periods. LOCK&EXPLORE provides two locker types:

  • Medium lockers (M), measuring 40 cm (height) x 41 cm (width) x 60 cm (depth). These lockers can accommodate approximately 1 carry-on suitcase and a backpack or 2 carry-on suitcases.
  • Extra-large lockers (XL), measuring 85 cm (height) x 41 cm (width) x 58 cm (depth). These lockers can accommodate approximately: 1 extra-large suitcase or 1 large suitcase and a backpack or 3 carry-on suitcases and a backpack.
  • Users may place any items they wish in these lockers, provided they adhere to the aforementioned measurements to prevent damage and ensure proper functionality.
  • Lockers can be rented for a minimum period of 1 day (24 hours) and a maximum of 30 natural days.
During this period, users may access their belongings as often as desired or required, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

PRICING

The price of each locker is displayed on the website at the time of ordering. All prices include VAT (value-added tax) and pertain to the rental of the locker for one natural day.
Prices are subject to modification based on market demands and conditions.

RESERVATIONS

When making a reservation, clients must truthfully and completely enter all required data. This data will solely be utilized to manage the reservation of LOCK&EXPLORE lockers.

USER RESPONSIBILITIES

Lockers serve as temporary storage spaces for goods. Users must use lockers correctly, avoiding damage or impairment, and maintaining premises integrity at all times.
Clients are obligated to use locker storage for legal and authorized purposes only. Storage of illegal items such as stolen goods, narcotics, or flammables is strictly prohibited.
Storage of animals or living beings in lockers is also strictly prohibited.
If any item stored in lockers requires a permit or license for possession, users must possess such documentation.
Do not store unpackaged food or drinks. Do not store money, jewelry, technological items (tablets, computers, televisions, etc.), or high-value goods in lockers. User decisions to store such high-value goods in rented lockers are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the user.
Retrieve items stored in rented lockers prior to the rental period conclusion. Leave lockers in the same condition as found at the service end. Report any incidents in lockers or their condition to LOCK&EXPLORE via reservas@lockandexplore.com.
Users are advised not to share locker codes with third parties, and users are responsible for any breach of these obligations. Do not use lockers for exchanging goods with third parties.
Access premises solely for locker access, avoiding prolonged stays.
Photography or recording of premises security mechanisms is prohibited.

USER LIABILITY REGARDING OBLIGATIONS

Non-compliance with the rental period

In the event of rental period non-compliance, LOCK&EXPLORE may empty user lockers to facilitate item return. The subsequent deadlines apply:

If seven days post-rental period conclusion, user contact cannot be established, it is assumed that goods have been abandoned, granting LOCK&EXPLORE permission to cease storage and dispose of goods as deemed appropriate.
Users will be charged the locker price plus a €100 penalty for each day beyond the rental expiration until lockers are vacated, regardless of LOCK&EXPLORE's right to claim damages.
If user contact is established for item return, a €100 penalty is applied, in addition to LOCK&EXPLORE's right to claim relevant damages. Upon LOCK&EXPLORE handing items to the carrier, user responsibility is assumed, with LOCK&EXPLORE assuming no risk or cost for item transport.

Non-compliance with locker usage guidelines

LOCK&EXPLORE reserves the right to remove any non-compliant items from lockers and report unauthorized items to authorities if necessary. In such cases, LOCK&EXPLORE is authorized to involve law enforcement and remove illegal items.
Users are accountable for items placed in lockers.
In the event of prohibited item removal, users are penalized €150, with this fine not absolving non-compliant users of their obligation to indemnify LOCK&EXPLORE for actual damages incurred.
If users exceed locker interior size limits, resulting in locker door blockage, users may contact us for assistance. Costs for rectifying user misuse may range from €5 to €50, depending on necessary actions.

Penalty payments

Penalties specified in this section will be settled by the user using the same payment method employed for service procurement or via bank transfer to an account specified by LOCK&EXPLORE upon user request. Users expressly agree to LOCK&EXPLORE debiting the amounts detailed in this section using the user's card or payment method upon service procurement.

Damage caused to lockers by users

Users are fully liable for damage or deterioration caused to lockers due to misuse or improper use. Users must indemnify LOCK&EXPLORE for physical damages to locker(s) and loss of revenue.
Specifically, and without limitation, users responsible for damage shall pay LOCK&EXPLORE a daily rental penalty for each day lockers remain unusable, as well as repair or replacement costs. Replacement of a locker module incurs a fee of €1,500, while replacing an individual locker door incurs a fee of €700. In all cases, the precise damage and loss amount will be accurately assessed.

LOCK&EXPLORE OBLIGATIONS

LOCK&EXPLORE is obligated to maintain operational locker services and provide users with the lockers they have contracted in good working condition for the duration of the contract.
Additionally, LOCK&EXPLORE must promptly address any incidents that may arise during locker usage.

LIMITATION OF LOCK&EXPLORE LIABILITY

LOCK&EXPLORE offers locker rental services and is not responsible for safeguarding user belongings. Clients are solely responsible for the items stored in rented lockers.
In case of theft, users must file a report with the appropriate authorities.
However, LOCK&EXPLORE holds an insurance contract benefitting users, covering theft losses up to a maximum amount. To avail themselves of this benefit, users must meet requirements outlined in the policy and collaborate with LOCK&EXPLORE in filing a claim with the insurer. In case of theft, users must file a complaint with the authorities without exception.
This insurance does not cover the loss of money, jewelry, gemstones or metals, watches, plasma screens, and, in general, technological items (LCDs, GPS navigators, cell phones, computers, tablets), art objects, antiques, memory cards, or any other media containing data or images.
